When I was eleven years old, every evening I used to sit beside my mother to watch her weaving. She carefully wove the threads creating extraordinary lines and shapes into a rug. I was amazed by the patterns and bright colors that gradually were revealing the Aztec Calendar image; in that particular moment I was enchanted by the magic of art. I’ve been privileged to be born in the cradle of art, Teotitlán Del Valle, a small village located in the southwest of Mexico in Oaxaca State. As I grew older my passion for art expanded and my understanding for preserving our artistic legacy became stronger. I started weaving at age twelve.

Throughout my experience working in Graphic projects I was introduced to the art of film-making. I discovered that this powerful medium has the capacity to inspire social reform. With the purpose to raise awareness about the problems or needs that afflict certain communities, I've collaborated in some projects such as interviews that help promote programs and resources for those in need. In 2016 I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts Media with emphasis in Digital Cinema at University of California San Diego.
